Introduction

Roll is a tab recorder for bugs. It captures video, console, network, and clicks on your computer. Your coding agent reads the file through a local MCP server. A public link is optional.

What you get

• A Chrome extension that records the tab you are looking at
• A local .jam bundle: video, HAR, console, and user events
• MCP tools so Cursor or Claude Code can inspect the latest recording
• Optional share links after GitHub or Google sign-in

What stays local

Capture never needs an account. Files live in the extension and, when the MCP host is running, in ~/.trace/jams. Nothing is uploaded until you publish a link.

Limits

• Free recordings stop at 5 minutes
• Free public links expire after 7 days
• Pro is $29 once: unlimited length, links until you delete them, 3 device activations
